Karney – Xaylyn Kayne Karney, age 24, of Callahan, Florida tragically passed away on January 20, 2026. He was born on November 19, 2001, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Maurice "Rock" Karney and MistyDawn "RavenHawk". Xaylyn graduated from West Nassau High School in 2020 and soon after answered a higher calling by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. As an active duty Marine stationed at New River Air Station in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Xaylyn served his country with pride and dedication. Beyond his military career, Xaylyn was a man of many passions. He was a devoted father who cherished time spent with his children. Xaylyn was an avid fan of the Incredible Hulk, enjoyed arm wrestling and weightlifting. Recently, Xaylan achieved a personal milestone by earning his Personal Trainer Certificate.  He also had a deep love for chess and could often be found strategizing over the board. Xaylyn's presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him through family ties, friendship, service, and shared interests. His memory lives on through the impact he made during his life, both in uniform and beyond it. May Xaylyn's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and honor to the legacy he leaves behind. He was preceded in death by his brother, Shadow.

Xaylyn leaves behind his father, Maurice "Rock" Karney; mother, MistyDawn "RavenHawk"; children, Carrington Atlas, Adelaide Capri; brothers, Joshua Robert, Phaylyn Jayde; sister, Angel Elaine; several uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and his Marine Corps family.

A Celebration of Xaylyn's Life will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
