Obituary

Willie "Larry" Sauls, 74, of Callahan, FL, went to meet Jesus on September 9, 2019.  He was born on May 25, 1945, in Hahira, Ga, to Willie Wayne Sauls and Ruthie Register Sauls.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of nearly forty-eight years, Margaret Sauls, children:  Sharon Sauls Mask (Wade) and Susan Sauls Avis (Mark), five grandchildren:  Wade Jr., Brittany, Hannah, Briley, and Carrie.

Larry proudly served his country in the US Army.  After his service, he returned to Jacksonville, FL, where he grew up.  He retired from Merita Bakery.  He was a charter member of Wayside Assembly of God, where he served in many capacities over the years under Pastor Walter Bowers, Sr.  He also served as Sunday School Superintendent and song leader at Wayside Church of God under Pastor and dear friend, Gene Smith.  He faithfully took his family to church and taught them to serve the Lord.  His faithfulness and dedication in serving the Lord created a legacy that lives on today through his children and grandchildren.

Larry was a generous and friendly man who never met a stranger.  He often reached out to help those in need.  He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them.

If he left anything with us today, it would be to have Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.  As he always said, "If I wasn't saved, I'd get saved today!"

Family will receive friends on Friday September 13, 2019 from 9:30-10:00 AM at Wayside Assembly of God. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM with Pastor Michael Williams and Brother David Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
