Vera "Darlene" Perrigue, age 86, of Callahan, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 13, 1939, in Lyons, Kansas; the daughter of William Allen and Vera Belle (Reynolds) Coonfer.  Darlene graduated from Lyons High School in 1957.  She worked as an Executive Assistant for Southwestern Bell Telephone, Enterprise, and Nelnet.

On April 19, 1994, Darlene was married to the love of her life, Jerry Ben Perrigue, in St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away on October 20, 2003.

Darlene loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, golfing, riding her beloved horse Dolly, and spending quality time with friends and family (both human and furry). Her unwavering selflessness, gentle heart, and quick wit touched numerous lives. Darlene will be greatly missed and remain in our hearts for all our days.

Darlene is survived by her two daughters, Dana Shrader and husband, Lonnie Shrader, and Taige Haines and husband, Tim Haines.

Darlene is also survived by her four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Justin Keach and his wife, Brianna Keach, along with their beautiful daughter, Addie Keach; Hannah Haines and her fiancé, Leslie Helmick; Kylie Keach; and Ethan Haines.

A Celebration of Darlene's Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nassau Funeral Home, 541720 US Highway 1, Callahan, Florida 32011 with Dana Shrader officiating.
