Thomas Going was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Claude and Betty Going. Thomas served in the United States Air Force.  He returned to Jacksonville, Florida and began working at IFF where he retired after 35 years.  Thomas loved to travel. While serving in the Air Force he had the opportunity to travel to England, Spain, North Africa, the Azores, and Goose Bay Labrador. Thomas traveled throughout the entire United States, much of Canada and into Mexico.  Of all the places Thomas traveled, his favorite place was sitting on the deck of his cabin and looking out at the mountains.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years Patricia; children, Thomas (Rose) Going, Jr., Tammy Hays, Teresa (Stephen) Bright, and Dasha (Roy) Linton; grandchildren, Joshua Going, Caleb Going, Hannah Woodruff, Randy Hays, Dennis Hays, William Bright, Jakob Linton and Ethan Linton; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Thomas will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 pm with Pastor Doug Allen officiating where military honors will be rendered.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Nassau Funeral Home.
