Gibson – Syba Jean Gibson, age 73, of Callahan, Florida passed away on April 10, 2020. She was born on February 16, 1947 in Tabor City, North Carolina to Galde Watts and Jessie Booth Watts.  Syba was a resident of Callahan, Florida for 35 years.  She enjoyed quilting, painting for the residents of nursing homes, and making pillows and blankets for babies.   Syba had a big heart who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Syba is survived by her husband, Charles Gibson of Callahan, FL; daughter, Rhonda Robinson of Chadbourn, NC; son, Dewey Norris of Callahan, FL; step-son, Charles Gibson, Jr. of Washington; step-daughter, Jennie Gibson of Oklahoma; sister, Betty Jo Norris of Whiteville, NC; brother Jerry Watts of Whiteville, NC; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.  at Jones Cemetery with Dr. E. Winson Butler officiating.
