Sharron Ann Oden Taylor age 71 of Hilliard, Fl passed away at her residence on

July 23, 2023.  She was the daughter of Wesley Oden and Letha Zabriskie. Sharron was a graduate of Northeast High School, Oakland Park, Fl. Sharron always excelled in everything she did. While on a visit to see her cousin in Jacksonville, Fl one summer she met the love of her life, Cody Taylor. From that time on those two were inseparable. After she graduated from high school and Cody went into the Army they married and she would eventually join him in Germany where he was stationed. She loved that experience. She said it really taught her a lot to be in a country where she didn't speak the language but she learned so much while living there. Once they returned home she and Cody made their home in Jacksonville and would become the parents to Jason and Christy. Sharron eventually went to work for the Federal government as Quality Assurance Program Manager and in 1986 earned Federal Employee of the Year Technical Managerial Award. She left that job Dec. 1992.

After having experienced her own personal battle with breast cancer and having a nurse go the extra mile to make her feel comfortable and to encourage her during a difficult time in her life. This opened her eyes to what nurses really do and what they can do for patients. Sharron received her associates of Arts degree from Florida Community College of Jacksonville in 2000 at the age of 48. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University in 2002. She was awarded Directors Award of Jacksonville University 2012, The Clinical Practice Development Award in 2011 and 2010, as well as the Excellence Award from First Coast Chapter of AACN in 2006. She was also nominated for the Great 100 Nurses Award. In 2019 Sharron was recognized by Today's Nurse as a Registered Nurse in Jacksonville, Florida, she also Qualified for inclusion in the 2019 edition of Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. In order to stay up to date in her field she maintained a professional membership with the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing the second largest nursing organization in the world. In addition to being an RN Sharron was also an assistant nurse manager, providing operational and administrative support to nurse managers. Sharron was affiliated with St. Vincent's Medical Center Jacksonville, Fl She was certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Furthermore, she was a certified critical care nurse (CCCN). During her active years as an RN, Sharron worked in the intensive care unit.

Sharron also had a fun and adventurous side to her as well. She loved to ride 4 wheelers in the woods or through the mud, ride bikes, camping, fishing or just on the boat reading while Cody was fishing, walking in the woods or going for rides with no destination just to get out and ramble on a Saturday or Sunday. She loved her family and loved to do for others. She and Cody were married for 53 years.  She loved Jesus and we know without a doubt that she is with Him now and suffering no more.
