Broughton – Ronald "Ronnie" Dewayne Broughton, Sr., age 72, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on June 2, 2021. He was born on December 29, 1948 in Jacksonville, FL to Floyd Broughton and Elizabeth Murray Broughton. Ronnie proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1969. During that time, he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged at the end of his enlistment.  He then went on to work as a diesel machinist for the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. He enjoyed supporting the Florida State Seminoles and the friendly rivalry among his Florida Gator family members. Ronnie will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Ronald (Shannon) Broughton, Jr.; grandchildren, Austin Broughton, Brittany Broughton; bonus son, Timothy McCall; lifetime friend and special caretaker, Laura Graham; and many extended family members and close friends.

A Celebration of Ronnie's Life will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021at 11 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Dr. E. Winson Butler officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
