Obituary

Raymond E. Seeley, affectionately known as Grampy, and widely known as 'The Voice of the Flashes', peacefully went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2022. Death for him has given way to victory and his faith has been made sight, as he has been reunited with his precious wife around the throne of God, forever more. He was born on March 5, 1931 in Akron, Ohio. He spent his childhood summers living in a lighthouse his grandfather oversaw on Lake Ontario. He was a proud veteran and served in the United States Army. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Margaret, or as he called her 'Babe', they celebrated 65 years of marriage before the Lord called her home in 2020. Many in the community know him as 'The Voice of the Flashes' as he spent more than four decades announcing football, basketball, baseball, and softball games.

As a faithful husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather he taught us many things we will never forget. Dangerous tongue twisters, card games and card tricks, riddles and some jokes we never care to repeat (if you know you know), how to correct a bent fork or keep your napkin from sticking to your cup. Sunday Mornings he would be singing from the church pew and giving a hearty "Amen". He was a faithful member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian and loved his extended church family dearly. Hilliard held a special place in his heart and he loved telling stories about the many years he volunteered and served in various ways.

He leaves to cherish in memory his children, Karen Seeley, Kenneth (Peggy) Seeley, and Eric Seeley; grandchildren Nikki (Nic) Chesser, Brittany (Jared) Cales, Chad (Kristi) Seeley, Halee (Michael) Tallman, Josh Seeley, Candace Huston, David Huston, and Jessie Seeley and many beloved great-grandchildren.

Oftentimes when he announced, he closed with these words and we feel they are appropriate today, "This is the Voice of the Flashes, rounding third, and headed home" for he has now reached his eternal home.

A service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (552290 US HWY 1 Hilliard, FL) with Pastor Jesse Pickett officiating.
