Tallent – Phillip Gene Tallent, age 90, of Hilliard, Florida passed away on October 28, 2023, at Life Care Center of Hilliard.  He was born on December 18, 1932, in Kanawha, West Virginia to the late Charles Tallent and Edith Hemmings Tallent. Phillip proudly served in the United States Army.  During his time in the military, he was promoted to Sergeant, spent one year in Korea, and earned a Purple Heart medal for his courageous achievements. Phillip was a longtime, faithful member of First Baptist Church of Gray Gables where he loved to worship and serve his Lord and Savior.  He also loved to watch Pastor Cody Page share the word of God with the little children and hear Pastor Justin Hartzell sing in the choir. Phillip loved God's creation, the outdoors and he enjoyed gardening with all of his vegetables.  He was a special man who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.  Phillip is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Tallent, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Keyes, Ruby Parsons, Opal Melton.

Phillip leaves behind his loving wife of 18 years, Martha Tallent; bonus children, Dan Courson, Dawn Kilpatrick; bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces that loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Phillip's Life will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Gray Gables with Pastor Cody Page officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
