Renfroe – Mildred Renfroe, age 86, of Callahan, FL passed away December 11, 2021. She was born on November 11, 1935 in Duval County, FL to Milton and Sarah Norton. She and her husband, James, moved to Callahan, FL from Jacksonville in 1973.  Mildred retired from Independent Life in 1997 after 45 years of service. She was a faithful follower of Christ and served her Lord by loving others. Almost everyone in her world would quickly be able to name one of her cakes or pies that she dropped by their house on more than one occasion. Her table often had more food than people to feed as she always ensured everyone had their specific favorite dish of hers, whether it was fried chicken, dressing, mac and cheese, a roast or potato salad. Her people always left full and well loved.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Kim Mitchell; and brother, Buddy. She is survived by son-in-law, Donald Mitchell; grandchildren, Lacey Mitchell, Chase (Katie) Mitchell; great grandchildren, James Reamer Mitchell, Charlotte Kate Mitchell; and brother Kenneth (Brenda) Norton.

A Celebration of Mildred's Life will be held on Wednesday, December 15, at 11am at Callahan First Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Carr officiating.  Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  The arrangements are under the care and direction of Nassau Funeral Home, 541720 US-1, Callahan, Florida 32011. 904-879-1770.
