Cox - Melvin Wilson Cox, Sr., 81, of Jacksonville, Florida went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2020. He was born on May 2, 1939 in Darien, Georgia to Toolie and Janie Cox.  Melvin and the love of his life, Annie Lewis Cox married on August 23, 1959 and have shared 61 wonderful years together. Melvin was a member of Bible Christian Fellowship Church, where he loved to worship and serve the Lord.  Melvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, acting silly and making everyone laugh.  He will be missed dearly.  Melvin is preceded in death by his parents; son, Melvin Wilson Cox Jr.; brother, Bruce Cox;  brother-in-law's, JB Drawdy and Rev. JW Griffin.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Annie Cox; son, Daniel Cox (Genesis); daughter, Pam Roskie (Tim); brother, Henry Cox; sisters, Irene, Jonelle, Franny, Glenda, Diane; brother-in-law, Robert (Linda);  daughter-in-law, Roxanne Cox; grandchildren, Bruce (Rochelle), Eric (Ashley), Shane, Emily, Danielle (Bradley), Lexi, Daniel, Crystal, Matthew and Bradley; great grandchildren, Tamia, Robbie, Carsten, Astrid, Freyja, Skylar, Ryar, Dakota, Isaiah, Lena, Myra and the entire church family.

A Celebration of Melvin's Life will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Victory Celebration Church, 3220 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32226 with Pastor Ken Henderson and Pastor Jim Matthews officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make a donation to Mrs. Annie Cox.
