Carroll – Kathleen "Shirley" Pitts Carroll, age 80, of Callahan, Florida passed away on May 7, 2023. She was born to the late Stephen Pitts and Jeannie Milstead Pitts on October 30, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida. Shirley has been a resident of Callahan, Florida for the past 55 years. She was a devoted employee for the Nassau County School System for over 30 years. In her young years, Shirley taught Sunday School and was an amazing Christian mentor within the church for young women. Shirley was a member of the Heavens Echo's and was known for her southern, gospel voice that touched so many lives. She was a woman of God and loved her Lord and Savior. Shirley was also known for her delicious southern cooking, especially her chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed watching movies and loved animals. Shirley always knew how to put a smile on your face with her fantastic sense of humor. More than anything, Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and is going to be missed dearly. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Carroll; daughter, Donna Marie Carroll; granddaughter, Vanessa Carroll.

Shirley leaves behind her loving husband, Roy Carroll of Callahan, FL; sons, Charles (Tracy) Carroll of Hilliard, FL, Greg (Wendy) Carroll of St. Cloud, FL, Granville Carroll of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Michele (Frank) Warr of Ochlocknee, GA; grandchildren, Charles "Chucky" Carroll of Hilliard, FL, Jessica (Neil) Maddox of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Crystal Green of Hoboken, GA, Corey (Cheyenne) Carroll of Hilliard, FL, Vicki Carroll, McKensie Lane, Peter Griffin of St. Cloud, FL, Madison Carroll of St. Cloud, FL, Frankie (Abrey) Warr of Ochlocknee, GA, Emily (Yovanny) Peguero of Orlando, FL, Morgan Warr of Ochlocknee, GA, April (Yuji) of Japan, Sydney Carroll of Callahan, FL, Jacob Carroll of Jacksonville, FL.

Pallbearers will be Chucky Carroll, Corey Carroll, Yovanny Peguero, Frankie Warr, Jacob Carroll, Pete Griffin, and Noah Yarbrough.

A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Dr. Lynn Hyatt officiating. Interment will follow at Brandy Branch Cemetery. The f amily will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
