Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Katherine Ann "Kathy" Burch of Hilliard, Florida on May 23, 2024, at the age of 77. She passed peacefully with her family by her side. Katherine was born on August 13,1946, in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late John DeWitt, Sr. and Adrienne Murray DeWitt. Katherine lived a life full of love and compassion. She walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with an unforgettable grace and loving kindness. Katherine was full of wisdom, quick to laugh and cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when she was needed the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She loved to read and was always looking for the next best spy fiction thriller. Katherine was a wiz at crossword puzzles and puzzle games. She adored Harry Potter and must have watched them a few hundred times with her faithful little dog, Lucy, snuggled by her side. Katherine's children will forever cherish Katherine's stories, the songs she would sing, and her comforting words followed by the warmest hug you've ever felt. She was a pillar of strength and a beacon of love; her absence leaves a void in our hearts.  Katherine was a woman who was loved deeply and will be sorely missed. She is leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, John and Adrienne DeWitt; son, Keith Smith; brother, John DeWitt.

Katherine leaves behind her loving children, Trudi (Rick) Allphin, Wesley Smith, Gene Burch; brother, Ted DeWitt; grandchildren, Shane Allphin, Tyler Smith, Keith Smith, Jr., Joseph Bishop.

The tribute above was prepared by Katherine's loving family.
