Obituary

Morgan – Joyce Baggett Morgan, age 79, of Bryceville, Florida passed away on October 17, 2023.  She was born on July 26, 1944, in Brewton, Alabama. Joyce built a life with her forever love, James "Jim" Morgan.  They were married for 63 beautiful years. Together they made a home and had a beautiful family.  Joyce was a stay at home mom until her children were in school. She then worked outside the home but never faltered on being a good wife and mother. On July 25, 2021, Joyce and Jim's world was shattered when they lost their son, John to Covid.  Neither one of them ever overed losing him.  They both strived to push forward in life with a smile covering their hurt.  Some months later her husband, Jim was diagnosed with cancer. Both were determined he would beat it.  On December 15, 2022, Jim, also known as "Pops" lost that battle.  Joyce had then lost the love of her life.  With a brave heart and soul, Joyce pushed forward for the love of her grandson, Garrett.  He was the last true piece of her beloved husband and son.  Nobody shined any brighter in her eyes than Garrett. Joyce would light up like a Christmas tree whenever she heard his voice and saw his face. She had such a big life and touched so many people.  Joyce truly had a gift to connect with people, understand them, and made them feel special like they mattered. Everyone's life was brighter having known Joyce, also known as "Meme". Meme loved us all in her own way.  We will hold on to each precious memory no matter how big or small.  She leaves that with us as she is reunited with all her loved ones who have passed on before her. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Morgan; son, John Morgan.

Joyce leaves behind her grandson, Garrett Morgan. The family would like to acknowledge a few friends that became family over the years and held a special place in Joyce's heart; Myrna Taylor, Sheri (Jeff) Bentley, Billy (Connie) Curtis, Marsha (Randy) Thomas, Tricia (Dan) Delgross, Alvin Reynolds.

The tribute above was prepared with love by Myrna Taylor.

A Celebration of Joyce's Life will be held privately by the family at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to a local Hospice Center or a charity of your choice.  The arrangements are under the care and direction of Nassau Funeral Home, 541720 US-1, Callahan, Florida 32011. 904-879-1770.
