Benson - Joseph "Joe" E. Benson, Jr., age 76, of Hilliard, Florida passed away on June 25, 2022.  He was born April 23, 1946, to Joseph E. Benson, Sr. and Nellie Paul Benson in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Joe graduated from Southwest Miami High School.  After high school, Joe continued his education and received his degree in aviation.  He became a flight instructor before getting hired with the FAA and later on with the IRS where he retired.  Joe loved flying, motorcycling and any outside activity, but most of all he loved his family.   He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Nellie Benson; brother, David Benson; in- laws, Gene and Jeanette Sisson; nephew, Baylee Sisson.

Joe is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patti Benson; daughter, Shirley (Randy) Rand; sons, Ray (Alisa) Benson, Shane (Rachael) Beasley; grandchildren, Josh (Kelsey) Schetrompf, Brittany (Tonya) Schetrompf, Sterling (Julia) Benson, Spencer Benson, Raely, Haven and Thaddeus Beasley; great- grandchildren, Raegan, Greyson, Emma and Presley Schetrompf, Kyla, Arianna and Caden Black, Killian Benson; sister, Betsy (Bill) Spiegel of Arcadia Florida.
