Gilbert - Johnny Lee Gilbert Sr., age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Bryceville, Florida on March 24, 2025. He was born in Ponce De Leon, Florida on August 11, 1945, to Roy Lee Gilbert and Annie Marie Wilson. Johnny graduated from Baldwin High School and joined the United States Navy in 1965. After his time in the military, he worked at JTA in Jacksonville, Florida, until he retired. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Sam Griffis.

Johnny leaves behind his wife, Shirley Law Gilbert; children, Bonnie Gilbert of Macclenny, FL, Johnny Lee Gilbert, Jr. of Bryceville, FL, Melissa Crews of Jacksonville, FL; stepdaughter, Sandy Epps Guess of Glen St. Mary, FL; siblings, Donnie (Jane) Griffis of Glen St. Mary, FL, Rodney (Cindy) Gilbert of Blairsville, GA, George "Randy" of Glen St. Mary, FL, and Karen Griffis of Macclenny, FL; 9 nephews and nieces; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
