McCoy – John W. McCoy age 78, of Callahan, Florida passed away on August 11, 2020. He was born on December 6,1941 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Frederick and Yvonne McCoy. After graduating high school, John enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for 24 years. John married the love of his life, Beverly on June 1, 1963 and enjoyed 57 wonderful years together. They lived all over the country before settling down in Callahan, Florida in 2005. John was an avid reader and loved science fiction the most. He was always on top of the latest technology trends. John made sure to share his experiences with his grandchildren and to "Hail the Traveler". He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and son Daniel Wayne McCoy.

John is survived by his wife, Beverly McCoy of Callahan, FL; daughters, Kimberly (Timmy) Summers of Pennsylvania, Barbara (Mike) Waldron of North Carolina, Veronica (John) Mowl of Callahan, FL and Kathy (Virgil) McClurken of Kansas City, MO; son, Daryl McCoy; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for John will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
