Jo Retta Johnson, age 61, of Callahan, Florida passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.  Born on April 14, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida to Loretta and Edward Reynolds. After a fulfilling career, with the Duval County School Board Jo retired in 2020 and embraced the joys of being a grandma, cherishing every single moment possible with her granddaughter, Eastyn. Her devotion to her family, love and presence will be deeply missed.

Jo is survived by her husband of 37 years, Leon Johnson; children, Michelle (Leroy) Hulst and Ryne Johnson (Franchesca Silvia); stepsons, Joshua (Jacquelyn) Johnson and Justin Johnson; step granddaughter, Gracelyn; 2 brothers, 4 sisters, multiple nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Jo's Life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Rev. Janie Ganyard, RN officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
