Burkett- Jeffrey "Jeff" Walter Burkett, age 60, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on May 5, 2023. He was born on July 30, 1962, in Tifton, Georgia to the late Jerry Walter Burkett and Dorothy Mae Easom. Jeff has been a resident of Jacksonville, Florida since 1989 and was proud to call it home. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force where he served dutifully as a Fire Protection Specialist. Jeff married the love of his life Catina "Tina" Marie Joiner in 1996. Together they shared 27 beautiful years. Jeff is best described as a man who never met a stranger. Every friend was family and always invited to a patio party where he served as "the grill master". He was an avid outdoorsman who prayed in a deer stand or with a fishing pole in hand. Jeff enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves, and the Westerns. He often cheered on the Jacksonville Sharks or the Jaguars with his girls by his side. Jeff loved with all he had. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Walter Burkett; mother, Dorothy Mae Wiggins; sisters, Dawn Burkett, Sylinda Tovar & many other loved ones who departed too soon.

Jeff leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Tina Joiner Burkett of Jacksonville, FL; children, Aryana Nicole of Jacksonville, FL, Nicholas Joel of Dayton, OH; sister, Kimberly Burkett, Otto, NC; grandchildren, Brielle Nickole & Jeremiah James.

A Celebration of Jeff's Life will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Mr. James Nixon officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
