Jeannie Marie Kirk Hess, age 57, entered the arms of her heavenly Father on October 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 20, 1969, Jeannie was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and a cherished fixture in her community. For 22 years, Jeannie served in many roles within food service for Nassau County Schools, eventually retiring as cafeteria manager, where her warm smile and dedicated service brightened the days of countless students and colleagues throughout her career which she retired in 2022.

Jeannie lived life with enthusiasm and found joy in simple, meaningful moments. She loved cruising around in her Mustang, spending weekends at local car shows, unwinding with her favorite game shows, and grabbing a good cup of coffee. Jeannie treasured her trips to Alabama, but above all else, her greatest joy was her family, with whom she loved spending every possible moment.

Jeannie is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Grady and Joyce Kirk; and her devoted husband of 26 years, Raymond Hess.

Jeannie’s memory will be forever cherished by her children, Christopher Hess and his wife Katie, and Christina and her husband Michael. She was the proudest grandmother to her four grandchildren, Ryleigh, Bradley, Isabella, and Jack, all of whom brought immense light and happiness to her life. Jeannie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The tribute above was prepared by Jeannie’s loving family.
