Whitley – James "Mac" Whitley, age 79, of Callahan, Florida passed away on August 6, 2023.  He was born on December 10, 1943, to the late James B. Whitley and Claudis Churchville Whitley.   Mac and the love of his life, Sarah McDonough Whitley happily wed on March 6, 1965. Together they moved to Callahan, Florida in 1974, and loved living in a small town.  Mac proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.  He had the privilege of traveling the world while he was enlisted.   After being discharged from the Marine Corps, he was employed for the Naval Air Station Jacksonville as the Quality Control Officer over the fighter jets.  Mac enjoyed camping, wood working, singing, and dancing. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph B. Whitley; daughter, Sarah Edith Whitley; sister, Wadine Hood.

Mac leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Sarah Whitley; brother, Michael (Cheryl) Whitley; sisters, Marcia Whitely, Tonda Griswald; cousin, Neron Churchville.

A Graveside Service for Mac will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Jones Cemetery with Pastor Keith Foskey officiating and where military honors will be rendered.
