Parsons – James Thetus Parsons, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2021.  James was born January 2, 1944 in Etowah, TN to the late Thetus Lee and Essie Alene Cornette.  James was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1972. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he received many achievements including his most favorable the title of USS Navy Diver. James was a man that wore many hats.  He was a Florida Forest Ranger, Deputy Sheriff in his hometown and then went on to pursuing a career and retiring from the United States Postal Service.   James met and married the love of his life, Jo Ann Sims in 1963.   James and Jo Ann had three children; Donna Elaine Parsons, James Christopher Parsons and Sharon Faith Parsons Davis.  James was a great Papa to his many grandchildren.

A Celebration of James's Life will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 12pm at Nassau Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
