Higginbotham – Iris Rae Holton Higginbotham, age 70, of Callahan, Florida passed away on July 7, 2020. She was born on November 16, 1949 in Dehue Ethel, West Virginia to the late Bernard Holton and Ruby Rutherford Holton. Iris moved from West Virginia to Nassau County when she was 3 years old and has been a resident ever since.  On June 14, 1968, Iris married the love of her life, Gary L. Higginbotham.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and playing bingo. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe Holton and Darrell "Toad" Holton; sister, Virginia Jane Melton.

Iris is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gary L. Higginbotham; daughters, Keri Higginbotham of Callahan, FL and Melissa Higginbotham (Donald) Green of Callahan, FL; brothers, Jack Holton of Hilliard, FL and Cecil (Carole) Holton of Bryceville, FL; sister, Patty (Wayne) Powers of Jacksonville, FL; sister in law, Sharilyn Higginbotham Meares; grandchildren, Kyle Carranza, Kash Raulerson, Ethan Green, and Evan Green; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Iris's life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Nassau Funeral Home with Chaplin Jackie Hayes officiating.
