Ida Mae
Sutton
Jun 4, 1940 — Sep 10, 2026
Callahan
Ida Sutton, age 86, of Callahan, Florida, passed from this life on Thursday, September 10, 2026. She was born June 4, 1940, in Lynchburg, Ohio, to the late Otto and Faye Leonard. Ida was a faithful member of the Callahan Church of Christ, where she loved and served her church family throughout her life. Her faith in her Lord and Savior was at the center of everything she did.
In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob Leonard and Jim Leonard; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers, Bill Leonard (Vera) and Jody Leonard; and her seven children, Loretta Crosby (Doug), Renee Lyle, Tommy Sutton, Tammy Conley (Scott), David Sutton (Sheila), Darin Sutton, and Robin Sutton. In addition to raising her seven children, Ida opened her heart and home to Bonita, Patty, and Roy, Jr. Williams. She was also blessed with 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
To know Ida was to know love. She spent her life caring for others and faithfully praying for her family, friends, and anyone in need. Ida had a servant’s heart and a special way of making everyone feel welcomed and at home. She was also a dedicated employee of NAPA Auto Parts for 30 years, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Ida loved playing her harmonica and singing, and she was blessed with a beautiful alto voice. Her family will always remember the love she poured into her famous chicken and dumplings, buttermilk pies, and chocolate caramel cakes.
Above all, Ida loved her family unconditionally. She supported her children throughout her entire life, and everything she did was rooted in her love for her family and her faith in God. Her legacy will live on through the family she raised, the lives she touched, and the countless prayers she prayed.
Rest easy, Momma, Sister, Nana, Aunt, and Friend. Your love, your prayers, and your faith will remain with us until we meet again.
The tribute above was prepared by Ida’s loving family.
