Wilson – Homer Melton Wilson, age 89, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on January 25, 2020 at the Warner Center for Caring. He was born January 20, 1931 in Shamrock, Florida to the late Frank William Wilson and Emma Johnson Wilson.  Homer has been a resident of Nassau County since 1970 and attended First Baptist Church of Callahan. Homer enjoyed riding around with his son-in-law Lane in his classic cars, fishing and telling stories. One of his favorite things to do was dance with "Suppie" his wife of 65 wonderful years. Homer was the best husband, father and grandfather and will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eugene and Woodrow Wilson; sister, Mable Baggett; and son, Melton Kent Wilson.

Homer is survived by his loving wife, Althea "Suppie" Lee Wilson, of Fernandina Beach, FL; children, Frederick Earl (Patricia) Wilson of Callahan, FL, Sabrina (Lane) Mashburn of Fernandina Beach, FL, Angela (Timothy) Keener of Hillard, FL; 9 grandchildren, Erika, Jordan, Kirby, Lane Aaron, Presley, Faith, Grace, Hope, and Alissa Joy; 1 great granddaughter, Zoey Sophia.

A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Community Hospice Warner Center for Caring (904) 268-5200.
