Harris
Meeks
Dec 24, 1940 — Jun 20, 2026
Harris Meeks, a devoted husband, proud veteran, and cherished family man, passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 85. He leaves behind a profound legacy of love, service, and dedication.
Born in Hollywood, Florida, Harris was the beloved son of Robert and Bonita Meeks. He answered the call of duty early in life, honorably serving his country as a United States Marine. A true patriot, Harris bravely completed two tours of duty during the Vietnam War, embodying the values of courage and commitment throughout his life.
Upon returning home, Harris built a life defined by loyalty and deep family bonds. He was the beloved husband of Martha Meeks, with whom he shared 55 beautiful years of marriage, laughter, and devotion. Together, they raised a family that grew to include four children, Terry Shrouder and her husband, Gerald, Eddy Brashears and his wife, Maggie; Robin Voss and her husband, Tim; and Michael Meeks and his wife, Pat.
Harris was a loving brother to his sisters, Annette Kendrick, Darlene Renfroe, and Sharlene Marconi, and his brother, Tommy Meeks. He is reunited in peace with his parents and his late brother, Bobby Meeks.
Harris's greatest joy was his role as a patriarch. He was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and the adoring great-grandfather of eight great-grandchildren. His family will forever remember his strength, his stories, and the enduring love he held for each of them.
Harris will be deeply missed but forever honored by his family, his friends, and the nation he served.
The tribute above was prepared by Harris's loving family.
