Obituary

Harold "Hal" Fulton, Jr. passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, after a fall in his yard. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose humor, kindness, and love for life touched everyone around him.

Hal's beloved wife of 65 years called him her "rememberer," because he treasured the details of their life together and loved to share stories from his childhood. They spent many happy hours in their sunroom, where Hal would tell stories while enjoying the view of the beautiful yard, he landscaped himself.

Never one to sit still, Hal always had a "project" planned for the day. He poured his creativity into cooking, proudly earning the title of "Chef Hal" at home. His specialty was Italian spaghetti, a dish he made often for his wife, knowing it was her favorite.

Faith was an important part of Hal's life. He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Callahan, Florida, where he served as a sacristan and made it a daily ritual to watch mass on television.

Hal had a tender heart for animals, especially his miniature dachshund, Phoebe, and a rabbit who made her home in his yard—whom he named Thelma and faithfully fed. He also had a lifelong passion for history, especially the Civil War. He studied generals and battles, collected artifacts such as bullets from Shiloh, and once attended a reenactment at the historic battlefield.

Above all, Hal was a storyteller and a jokester. He loved to make people laugh, and his stories and humor brought joy to family, friends, and even strangers.

The tribute above was prepared by Hal's loving wife, Marlen.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Hal will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church with Rev. Dung Bui officiating.
