Allen – Glenda June Allen, age 88, of Callahan, Florida passed away on February 7, 2022.  She was born in Baker, Florida on July 14, 1933 to the late Grady Hammonds and Dorcas Hobbs Hammonds.  Glenda and the love of her life, Virgil Eudonald Allen shared 47 beautiful years together.  She dedicated 25 years of service to JEA as a customer service representative.  Glenda enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, going to the gym, reading, putting puzzles together, fishing, hummingbirds, her plants and flowers, and vacationing in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  She was a longtime member of Thomas Creek Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending and worshiping, but most of all, Glenda loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil Eudonald Allen; sister, Barbara Carr.

Glenda is survived by her loving children, Donald Allen, Cheryl Donnette (Terry) Bell; brother, Frankie (Sharon) Hammonds; sister, Connie (Ray) Rountree; grandchildren, Dwayne (Creta) Larsen, Debony (Marty, III) Johnson, Taryn Bell, Taylor Bell; great grandchildren, Dawson Larsen, Paige Larsen, Mariah Johnson, Marvin Johnson, IV; granddaughter in law, Donna Larsen.

A Celebration of Glenda's Life will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 12:00 pm at The Anchor Church of God with Pastor Dwight Allan, Pastor Jeff Carter, and Pastor Ethan Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Nassau Funeral Home.
