Macomber – Gilbert Ronald Macomber, Jr., age 67, of Callahan, FL passed away on August 7, 2021. He was born on November 24, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL to Gilbert R. Macomber, Sr. and Cora Lee Geoghagen Macomber.  Gilbert was a very simple man.  He was an industrial painter for about 40 years and took pride in his work. When Gilbert wasn't working, he liked to go fishing, sitting on the back porch watching nature and loved hearing his son sing karaoke. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Gauge. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Macomber; sisters, Phyllis L. Temple, Pamela Christine Dixon; brother-in-law, Jack Waters.

Gilbert leaves behind his son, Gilbert (Shannon) R. Macomber III; brother, William (Gail) Macomber; sister, Mary Pat Waters; grandson, Gauge Macomber.

A Celebration of Gilbert's Life will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Hughes Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
