Johnson – Geraldine "Gerry" McClelland Johnson, age 89, of Hilliard, Florida passed away on July 15, 2022 at Life Care Center of Hilliard.  She was born in Douglas, Georgia on February 19, 1933 to the late Leonard McClelland and Virginia Garbett McClelland.  Gerry was most passionate about her family.  She was a devoted wife for 69 years to her beloved husband, Alfred Rudolph Johnson.  She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, and traveling.  More than anything, Gerry loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard McClelland and Virginia Garbett McClelland; loving husband, Alfred Rudolph Johnson; sisters, Vera and Faye McClelland; and brothers, Leon and Mack McClelland.

Gerry is survived by her loving children, Rudy (Lori) Johnson of Hilliard, FL, Reggie (Vivian) Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, Charlotte Johnson Young of Hilliard, FL, and Charlene Johnson Mains of Jacksonville, FL; brother, J.L. (Louise) McClelland; sisters, Brenda Tyler and Peggy Kibbey; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

A Celebration of Gerry's Life will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 4040 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida with Pastor Jason Kratochvil and Pastor George Kratochvil officiating.  Interment will follow at Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Nassau Funeral Home Chapel.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Nassau Funeral Home, 521720 US-1, Callahan, Florida 32011, 904-879-1770.  Visit www.nassaufh.com to sign the family's guest book.
