McKendree - Gerald “Jerry” Thomas McKendree, Sr., age 90, of Juniper Creek Drive Brewton, Alabama passed away Friday September 4, 2026, in a Mobile, Alabama hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 5, 1935, and was raised in Callahan, Florida. Jerry moved to Brewton in 1957 when Container Corporation paper mill was constructed and was a lab superintendent. He resided in Brewton for 46 years and returned to Fernandina Beach, Florida after retirement for 21 years (2003-2024). Jerry returned to Brewton in 2024 with daughter Cindy, after wife of 67 years passed away.

A Memorial Service for Jerry will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Springhill Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at a later date in Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery Callahan, Florida.
