Eric Earl
Lewis
Apr 15, 1965 — Apr 1, 2025
Lewis – Eric Earl Lewis, age 59, of Hilliard, Florida passed away peacefully at his home on April 1, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 15, 1965, in Jacksonville, Florida to Raymond Earl Lewis and Sara Katherine Russell. Eric lived a life grounded in dedication and simplicity. A graduate of Fernandina Beach High School, Eric went on to serve his country with honor as a member of the United States Navy before retiring. After his military service, Eric owned and managed Lewis Farm & Timber, where he found deep fulfillment in farming and raising cattle. His connection to the land was a defining part of his life. Eric cherished the time he spent running the farm and raising cows—a way of life that brought him both pride and peace. Whether cruising the river on his pontoon boat or casting a line from his fishing boat, Eric treasured every moment spent on the water with his family. He had a passion for NASCAR, especially cheering for #43 Richard Petty, rarely missed watching Scottie Scheffler playing in a golf tournament, and was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles about as much as he did Mexican food. A Christian man, Eric's values were reflected in the way he lived—steadfast, humble, and true to himself. Eric was known for his bold spirit and personal motto, "Not Everyone Can Handle This Much Freedom," he left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Eric is preceded in death by his grandfathers; father; son, Casey Lewis.
Eric leaves behind his mother, Sara Katherine Russell; daughter, Erica (Nedal) Mardini; sisters, Kim Lewis, Amy Katherine Gray, Cynthia Hicks; grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members along with a host of friends who will forever miss and love him.
The pallbearers will be Ryan Hodges, Bradley Cribbs, Michael Wallace, Chase Lewis, Zachary Thompson, Dusty Pate, Nedal Mardini, and Daniel Hodges. Honorary pallbearers will be David Gray, Darryl Wallace, and David Lewis.
A Celebration of Eric's Life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Marvin Lee officiating.
