Jones – Elliott Elmer Jones, Jr., age 100, of Callahan, Florida went to his Heavenly Home on December 7, 2023, at his residence with his loving family by his side.  He was born in Callahan, Florida on October 14, 1923, to the late Elliott Elmer Jones, Sr. and Esther Jones.  Elliott was raised in Callahan and graduated from Callahan High School.  A few months after graduation, Elliott enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served in World War II on the Pacific Front.   Elliott was patriotic and understood the importance of protecting our great country.  After his honorable discharge from the military, Elliott moved to Wisconsin for work opportunities.  He met the love of his life, Marilyn Smith, and they were happily married on March 31, 1950.  Elliott and Marilyn were blessed with 70 amazing years of marriage, three children, four grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.  Elliott was a devoted husband, hard worker and provider for his family.  Elliott enjoyed a long successful career as a Contractor.  In the early 1980's, Elliott opened his own company, Elliott Jones Construction.  He enjoyed building custom homes, bringing joy to many families, and managing properties.   In his free time, Elliott loved traveling and being on the water.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, lobstering, and scalloping.  He also enjoyed attending church at Callahan First Baptist Church where they were members for years.  More than anything, Elliott loved his family, enjoyed spending time with them, and especially loved making memories with his grandkids.  He was a true treasure and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.  Elliott was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Marilyn June Jones; sisters, Madeline Pittman, Velna Williams, Eleanor Sandel, Wynell Lunsford, and Jenny Lou Herring; brother, Lewis Jones; and son-in-law, John Alden.

Elliott is survived by his loving children, Debbi Alden, Scott (Donna) Jones, and Danny (Debbie) Jones all of Callahan, FL; grandchildren, Jaysir Alden, Tamara Jones, Lindsey Jones, and Jenna (Tyler) Davis; step- grandson, John Alden; 3 great-grandchildren, Alex, Taylor, and Logan; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Elliott's Life will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 am at Callahan First Baptist Church with Dr. Lynn Hyatt officiating.  Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 2023, one hour prior to the service at the church.
