Walker - Doris Elaine Jones Walker, age 83, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 8:50 p.m. at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Cecil and Mrs. Dorothy Jones.  Doris was born on March 13, 1938 in Callahan, Florida (Nassau County). She received her education in the local public schools of Nassau County. Doris worked as a substitute schoolteacher in Nassau County, Gold Kist Eggs, a cook at Quality Inn Jamaica in Callahan, Florida, and a Home-Giver. Doris was a member of Bethel AME Methodist Church in Callahan, Florida all her life. She served under many pastors and was presently serving under Rev. Marva T. Mitchell. Doris was currently serving on the Stewart Board.  She was a faithful and dedicated member. Doris was very well known for her "BIG" heart and always lending a helping hand. She was very generous in giving to her community. Doris was loved by many and shared her love with all. She was a pillar of her community. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Juanita Fay Walker Denson; brother, Henry Lee Jones; grandson, Elijah Selch.

Doris leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughters, Jennifer (Leonard) Ramsey of Callahan, FL, Deborah (William) Thomas of Callahan, FL, Anita (Michael) Taylor of Folkston, GA; sons, Douglas, Kevin, Michael (Ingred), Shawn, Corey Walker all of Callahan, FL, Terrence Walker of Killeen, TX; sisters, Juanita Ginlack of Jacksonville, FL, Shirley Riley, Clara Pace and Minnie Jones all of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Kimberly, Juan, Trissie, Tara, Marcia, Shari, Michelle, Alexa, Alexander, Stephanie, Deanna, Chloe, Michael, Jr., Isiah; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Juan Jr., Kyler, Victoria, Jariah, Elijah and Valencia; nieces, nephews, cousins, best friends, Ernestine Taylor, Patricia Williams, Wanda Roberts, Louise Moore, James and Marva Mitchell, Alice "Tina" Jones, Missouri Williams, and many more sorrowing friends.

A Graveside Service for Doris will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Callahan Cemetery Association where friends will be welcome at 10:00 a.m.  Family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Bethel AME Methodist Church (45133 Page Street Callahan, Florida 32011).
