James – Dale Rodney "Scooter" James, age 67, passed over to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 18, 2023.  Attended by his wife at their home, Dale passed away succumbing to his battle against cancer.  Dale was a native of Charleston, South Carolina, born by Davis and Jaqueline James on May 22, 1956.

Dale retired from Smurfit Stone Paper Mill in 2005 as a Master Mechanic but was also a welder and jack of many trades.  Those who knew "Scooter" best knew him for his dedication to his family, work, community, and church.

In retirement, Dale enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and being a committed member to Lannie Road Baptist Church.  He will be sorely missed as the patriarch of the James family.

Dale leaves behind his wife, Barbara James; mother, Jackie; children, Rodney, Lisa, Jessica, Dana, Mike, Eddie, Renee, Ashley, Lamar; 17 grandchildren he loved dearly; brothers, Andy and Dewain; sister, Lisa; many extended family members and friends that he cherished.

A Celebration of Dale's Life will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Wimberly officiating.  Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
