Obituary

Walker – Chris Walker, age 49, of Hilliard, Florida became absent from his body to be present with the Lord on April 1, 2023. He was born on January 18, 1974, in Jacksonville, Florida to Conrad Walker and Cynthia Mitchell.  Chris spent most of his childhood in St Augustine, Florida and Pearl, Mississippi. He met the love of his life Karen and her daughter Catherine in 2003.  Chris not only chose to marry Karen but also committed to becoming a provider, protector, and father to Catherine in 2005. In 2017, Chris and family opened their hearts and homes to Campbell. He owned his own garage door business for many years which served the communities of NE Florida.  Chris ran his business with a servant's heart.  Often his family would come home to a missing garage door or door opener because someone needed one and couldn't afford it.  Those acts were not infrequent and were a true reflection of the man we celebrate today. Chris was known most for his love of vehicles.  Though he loved all vehicles he was particularly fond of old Ford trucks and muscle cars.  In addition to being a vehicle enthusiast Chris had other hobbies which included watching hours of useless YouTube videos, frequenting Starbucks drive throughs and shopping on Amazon.  Amazon will truly miss him as he is still receiving packages of car parts and landscaping equipment at his home.

Chris leaves behind his loving wife, Karen Walker; children, Catherine Walker, Campbell Walker; bonus daughter, Haili West; father, Conrad Walker; mother, Cynthia Mitchell; father-in-law, Norman Noble; mother-in-law, Ruth Noble; sisters, Connie Alton, Cindy (Chris) Forbach; sister-in-law, Kim (Kevin) Falls; brother-in-law, Kenny Noble; and multiple nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Chris's Life will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Pastor Don Oxley officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The arrangements are under the care and direction of Nassau Funeral Home, 541720 US-1, Callahan, Florida 32011. 904-879-1770. Visit www.nassaufh.com to sign the family's guest book.
