Wate - Charles "Charlie" Richard Wate, Jr., age 56, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born January 2, 1965 in Duncanville, Texas to Chuck and Thelma Wate. After graduating from Duncanville High School in 1983, Charlie attended college, earning his Respiratory Therapy License, and meeting and marrying his late wife, Tammy Jean Wate of Desoto, Texas on December 12th, 1990. They were married for 21 years before her passing in February of 2012. After moving to Hilliard, FL, Charlie began his medical career at Methodist Medical Center in downtown Jacksonville in 1991. He went on to retire from Baptist Medical Center in Fernandina Beach, FL in 2012. Charlie also served his community as a reserve officer for the Nassau County Sheriff's Office from March of 1992 to July of 2012.

Charlie is survived by his children, Alexandra (Collin) Huish, Emily (William) Rechenmacher, Charles Richard Wate lll; granddaughter, Charlotte Huish; parents, Chuck and Thelma Wate; sister, Carole (Jimmy) Wate Hall; nephews, Matthew Hall, Mark Hall; niece, Megan Hall.

A Celebration of Charlie's Life will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
