Cowart – Charles Raymond Cowart, age 68, of Callahan, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Community Hospice Center for Caring at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside after a lengthy illness. He was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida on February 20, 1956, to the late John Cowart and Elizabeth Fouraker Cowart. Raymond dedicated many years of his life to his career as a drywall finisher, a trade where he was well-respected for his skill and work ethic. He was a man who found great joy in the simpler pleasures of life. Raymond was an avid fisherman, often found near the water with a fishing pole in hand, waiting patiently for his next catch. Beyond his own interests, Raymond cherished the time spent with his family and friends, creating memories that they will hold dear. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randle Cowart; nephew, Donald Cowart; stepson, Joshua Hayes.

Raymond leaves behind his son, Corey Cowart; daughter, Elizabeth Fletcher; brother, Ronald (Phyliss) Cowart; sisters, Doris Crosby, Patricia (Calvin) Bell; along with many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Raymond will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Paparo officiating.
