Carolyn B. Maddox, 81, passed away peacefully on February 22 ^nd , 2020. She was born in Wrightsville, GA on April 21st, 1938 to the late John "J.W." Blount and Montez Lawrence. Carolyn was a teacher for the Duval County Public School system. She was a very good crafter, loved spending time at the library, and was a huge fan of Alan Jackson. Most of all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Carolyn was a sweet Christian woman who loved The Lord.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her brother, Larry L. Blount; sister, Judy Blount (Youmans); and granddaughter, Amanda Gail McCance.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Gail McCance (Everett) of Jacksonville, FL, and Patricia Barber of Jacksonville, FL; sisters Jacey Sarrells of Jacksonville, FL, and Linda Dale of Kite, GA; grandchildren Matthew McCance, Miranda Nelson (Brandon), and Amy Kidd (Jared); and great-grandchildren Rylen McCance and Carter Nelson.

A Celebration of Carolyn's Life will be held on Friday, February 28 ^th , 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home in Callahan, Florida. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27 ^th , 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. at the funeral home.
