Betty Jo Hagan Allen, 88, passed away unexpected on December 7, 2020 at Baptist South Hospital. She was born December 11, 1931 in Hilliard, the daughter of Joseph and Nellie Louise Keen Hagan. She graduated from Callahan School, Class of 1947. After graduation she became an operator for Bell South for some time. Following, she worked several jobs and later worked as a caretaker was the profession that she is well known for to this day. She married and was the mother of five children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 12 years, MacHenry Allen.

She is survived by her children Teresa (Billy) Konruff, Arthur (Stephanie) Gordon, Karen (Bob) Levine, Tamie (Terry) Cordoba and Kevin (Laurie) Gordon; grandchildren Tonya (Kent) Williamson, Melissa Adams, Jason (Neaka) Neiss, Mathew (Hilary) Gordon, Christopher Gordon and Nicholas Gordon; great-grandchildren Kevin, Josh, Carson, Malachi, Dawson, Meadow, Jared, Jason, Marcus and Penelope; two sisters Kitty Parrish and Norma Heheintzleman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Don't want to forget the people she helped to get started in AA. She was like a mom to a lot of them.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 10 from 5-7 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 11 at 10 a.m. at Callahan First Baptist Church, 45090 Green Ave., Callahan with Pastor Lynn Hyatt officiating.
