Bowman – Benny Michael Bowman, age 80, of Callahan, Florida passed away on July 9, 2023.  He was born on June 7, 1943, in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Lewis Charles Bowman and Hazel Coleman Bowman.  Benny moved to Callahan, Florida from Jacksonville Beach, Florida in 1985.  He was a devoted and loyal member of Callahan First Baptist Church where he served as an usher.  Benny worked as a commercial fisherman for many years.  He also worked at Atlantic Drydock and Baptist Medical Center.  Benny enjoyed restoring old cars.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.  Everybody loved Uncle Benny" and he will be missed dearly.  Benny is preceded in death by his parents.

Benny leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Kem Bowman; children, Matt (Stephanie) Rhodes, Terri Bowman, Angie Bowman, Joanie Bowman, Ben (Tonda) Fox; grandchildren, Ashley, Mason, Conner, Tyler, Corbin, Ashlyn, Sydney; several nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Benny's Life will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Callahan First Baptist Church with Dr. Lynn Hyatt officiating.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Camp Boggy Creek or to Callahan First Baptist Church ministries.  The arrangements are under the care and direction of Nassau Funeral Home, 541720 US-1, Callahan, Florida 32011. 904-879-1770.
