On June 22, 2019 Heaven gained a new choir leader!

90 year old Alfred Rudolph Johnson, of Hilliard, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning with his wife of 68 years by his side. Rudolph was born in Georgia on January 19, 1929 to Frank and Lounette Johnson.

On December 24, 1950 he married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine McClelland. After serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, he returned home and they started a family.

In 1960 the Johnson's moved to Jacksonville and called Northeast Florida home. They became very active in Calvary Baptist Church where Rudolph faithfully served as music director for many years. It was also during this time Rudolph started Rudy's Track Service, an active business in the area through 2015. Everyone who knew him will miss his contagious smile and tender heart.

Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lounette Johnson and 3 brothers - Gene Johnson, David Johnson, and Lamar Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" Johnson-Hilliard, FL. Son Rudy (Lorie) Johnson-Hilliard, FL. Son Reggie (Vivian) Johnson-Jacksonville, FL. Twin daughters Charlotte (Greg) Young-Hilliard, FL, and Charlene (Doug) Mains-Starke, FL. Sisters Montez Edge, Patsy (Sam) Floyd, and Bernice (Bobby) Griffin. 10 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday June 26, 2019 from 6-8:00 PM in the Nassau Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Thursday June 27, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastors Jason Kratochvil and Steve Wolgamott officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery in Callahan FL.
