Brooks – Adell H. Brooks, age 90, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026. She was born to the late James Hollie and Gennie Hollis Hollie in Beaverton, Alabama on September 29, 1935. Adell dedicated over 30 years as a bus driver in Duval and Nassau counties. Her faith in her Lord and Savior was a guiding light. Adell found joy in worship and singing gospel music with her beloved sisters. In her youth, she cherished lively moments spent at the dance hall. Adell’s warmth and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Brooks.

Adell is survived by her son, Donald (Teresa) Brooks; brother, James (Jackie) Earl Hollie; grandchildren, Donald (Stacey) Brooks, Jr.; great grandchildren, Tegan, Tanner, Tolliver, Temperance; numerous nephews and nieces; and special friends, Alert Bland and Janie Rutledge.

A Celebration of Adell’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Margaret Hayden officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
